How AI search optimization works, and what we do not promise

AI search optimization, also called answer engine optimization, is the work of making a clinic easy for ChatGPT, Gemini and Google to read, cite and connect to the right area. We measure what those systems say now, then fix the parts of the answer the clinic controls.

The order is fixed: measure, fix, report. The baseline comes before any proposal.

Step one: measure what the answer engines see now

Five things go into the baseline, and you get the raw notes with the report.

  • The Maps grid. We run the local terms a patient would type from the clinic door and from points 5, 10 and 15 km out, and record the rank at each point.
  • Review pace. Total reviews and the number posted in the last 90 days, for the like-for-like clinics inside a short radius. In the Vrinda Ashok Vihar report that set was 8 IVF clinics within 2.5 km.
  • AI answers. Five patient questions about the specialty in that area, put to ChatGPT and Gemini twice each. We record which clinics are named, which sources the answer cites, and how the clinic is described.
  • Pages and schema. How many pages name the area, what the page titles say, whether MedicalClinic markup is present, and whether the address and phone match across listings.
  • Crawler access. Robots rules for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, and whether the site serves them a readable page.

The full data set is in thesample AI visibility report.

Step two: fix the parts you control

People ask how to rank in ChatGPT. There is no ranking to buy. What exists is being readable and citable: pages a model can fetch, facts it can check, and a listing that agrees with them.

  1. Area pages. One page per clinic location, naming the neighborhood in the title and the first paragraph.
  2. The Google profile. Correct categories, hours, photos and services, plus answers to the questions your front desk already handles by phone.
  3. Review invitations within the rules. Every patient, no incentives, no gating.
  4. Schema and consistent facts. MedicalClinic markup, and the same clinic name, address and phone on every page and listing you own.
  5. AI crawler access. Robots and server rules that let the AI crawlers read the site.

Step three: report weekly and monthly

The weekly report is a work log: what changed, on which page or profile. The monthly report is the numbers, with the same Maps grid, review measure and questions set beside month one. Where an answer moved, it shows the wording before and after. Where nothing moved, it says so.

The minimum engagement is three months. A shorter window cannot separate a real change from normal churn.

Timelines, as industry ranges

Typical industry ranges: correct brand facts in AI answers 2 to 6 weeks, first mentions on niche or local questions 1 to 3 months, competitive "best X" questions 3 to 6 months. Your market and your review history decide where in that range you land. AI answers change run to run.

What we do not do and do not promise

  • No ranking promises and no promised AI mentions.
  • No fake reviews, no review gating, no bought links.
  • We never handle patient records or patient data.
  • We have no US case studies, client testimonials, awards or years in business, and we will not imply that we do.

Questions about the process

What do you collect in the first measurement?

The Maps grid for the local terms a patient would type, total reviews and the last 90 days for the like-for-like clinics nearby, the answers ChatGPT and Gemini give to five patient questions, and the site: page titles, schema and crawler access. Everything except the site check comes from public listings.

How long does it take before ChatGPT or Gemini names my clinic?

We do not promise mentions. AI answers change run to run, and a model chooses its own sources. Typical industry ranges, not promises: correct brand facts in AI answers 2 to 6 weeks, first mentions on niche or local questions 1 to 3 months, competitive "best X" questions 3 to 6 months.

Do you need patient data or access to our booking system?

No. We never handle patient records or patient data. We need read access to your website and your Google Business Profile. The rest of the baseline comes from public listings and reviews.

What does the reporting look like, and how long is the engagement?

A weekly note on the work done: which page changed, what the profile now says. A monthly set of numbers against the baseline, plus the same AI questions again. The minimum engagement is three months, because a month is not enough to see a trend.

What each part costs and includes is on the services page.

Start with the measurement

Send your clinic name, website and city. We will run the baseline for your area and send back what we find before you commit to anything.
